The Office of Catholic Cemeteries for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island, manages ten cemeteries that serve the faithful in Rhode Island. The Office of Catholic Cemeteries was established to carry out the sacred religious function of the burial and care for the resting places of the deceased. We recognize all the regulations and guidelines of the Catholic Cemetery Conference to properly maintain our cemeteries in accord with the Conference and the Catholic Church.
We believe in, and are firmly committed to, the teachings and rich tradition of the Catholic Church with regard to the deceased and the sacredness of the cemeteries in which their bodies rest. Our mission is to ensure the proper interment, memorialization and perpetual care in the tradition of the corporal works of mercy of the Catholic Church. The Cemeteries staff is a comforting and welcoming presence, reflecting the compassion of Jesus.
